You can purchase a DVD of the live theatre performance of 'Romero- Heartbeat of El Salavador' filmed at Worth Abbey in 2018.  The DVD is available from our ONLINE SHOP. Its release marked the Canonisation of Archbishop Oscar Romero on 14th October 2018.

 Romero – Heartbeat of El Salvador was a play written by RISE Theatre in association with The Archbishop Romero Trust, looking at the life and legacy of a man who chose to challenge those in power and stand up for social justice.

The true story of Blessed Oscar Romero and the people of El Salvador is brought to life with explosive energy and passion from the RISE theatre team, accompanied by an original sound track from James Joshua Otto and inspiring graffiti set design by Gage Graphics.

On March 24th 1980, whilst celebrating Mass at the chapel of the Hospital of Divine Providence in San Salvador, Archbishop Oscar Romero was killed by a single bullet from an assassin. A modern day martyr created. A future saint in the making.
